INDUSTRIAL VISIT:VENUS HOME APPLIANCES PVT LTD

An industrial visit was arranged for students of two academic levels Second Year (UG) and Final Year (UG) from the Department of Physics to the Venus Home Appliances Pvt Ltd. Thoothukudi on 18.07.2025.The purpose of this visit was to expose both junior and senior students to modern manufacturing techniques and real-time industrial practices. The Objective of the Visit is to provide a foundational understanding of manufacturing processes and industrial setup and give the practical exposure to advanced technologies, quality assurance, and career-oriented insights. Also, to learn about safety measures, energy efficiency, and innovations in water heating technology. Venus Home Appliances Pvt. Ltd. is a renowned name in the home appliances industry, especially known for its high-quality electric water heaters. With advanced manufacturing systems and environmentally compliant processes, the factory showcases how innovation meets industrial efficiency. The visit began with an introductory session and safety briefing. Students were split into two groups based on their academic level for guided tours. Students were introduced to Basic assembly lines, Role of different components in water heaters, Introduction to QA and safety practices, Automated systems and R&D department, Energy-saving technologies and smart systems, Career guidance from senior engineers. Key Observations:  Use of glass-lined tank technology, thermal insulation, and corrosion-resistant components.  Precision testing for pressure, temperature, and leakage resistance.  Emphasis on eco-friendly manufacturing and energy efficiency standards.  Coordination between electrical, mechanical, and quality teams for end-to-end production. 27 physics students along with 3 staff members were benefitted by this industrial visit. Students gained exposure to basic factory workflow and real-time industrial environment. Also, learned about components and construction of electrical appliances. They understood advanced manufacturing processes, system integration and employment opportunities in the appliance sector. A joint Q&A session was held, where students asked questions about career paths, industry trends, and technological advancements. The factory engineers appreciated the curiosity and active participation of both groups. The visit to Venus Water Heaters Factory served as a valuable industrial exposure for both junior and senior students. It helped bridge the academic curriculum with practical applications, broadened technical understanding, and inspired interest in manufacturing careers. We sincerely thank Venus Home Appliances Pvt.
