One Day State Level Seminar on “Energy Sustainability: Insights from Indian Knowledge Systems” on 3rd March 2026

The *Department of Physics* organized a *One Day State Level Seminar* on *“Energy Sustainability: Insights from Indian Knowledge Systems”* on *3rd March 2026* at Dr. M. Varadharajan Hall. The program began with a welcome address by *Dr. N. Rathna, Convener & Head and Assistant Professor of Physics* , APCM. The seminar featured two eminent resource persons. *Dr. J. Uma Maheswari, Associate Professor, The M.D.T. Hindu College, Tirunelveli* , delivered a session on *“Sustainable Winds: Offshore Wind Energy Inspired by Indian Knowledge Systems.”* and *Dr. R. Mary Jenila, Assistant Professor, St. Xavier’s College (Autonomous), Tirunelveli* , spoke on *“Energy Storage Devices: Powering the Transition to a Sustainable Future.”* delivered insightful sessions on offshore wind energy and energy storage devices.The seminar received an excellent response with *145 participants* from both *inside and outside* the campus, including students, research scholars, and faculty members. During the valedictory session, participants shared positive feedback, stating that the seminar was highly informative and beneficial. Certificates were distributed to all participants. The program concluded with a heartfelt Vote of Thanks proposed by *Mrs. P. Saraswathi, Assistant Professor of Physics,* APCM and Organising Committee Member.The program ended with the National Anthem.
